The PRCH Retail Awards Gala is a remarkable event hosting the representatives of management boards, investors, developers, retail chains and companies associated with the retail industry every year. This time, the guests had an opportunity to taste the buffet offered by several renowned Warsaw restaurants and an open bar. Shoe store Deichmann's prepared a surprise for the guests: a layer cake made to mark the 20th anniversary of Deichmann presence in Poland. A special guest of the evening was the singer Margaret.
Particularly noteworthy is the verdict of the jury, who granted the highest prize in the New Shopping Centre category to Posnania in Poznań, and also awarded the Hala Koszyki in Warsaw. Even though quite different in many aspects, the designs of both buildings will probably set the directions for development of shopping centres in the years to come.
The Galeria Sfera shopping gallery in Bielsko-Biała got the award for the Best Shopping Centre, while Galeria Morena in Gdańsk and Aleja Bielany in Wrocław were distinguished as the shopping centres which best coped with the difficulties of extension and retrofitting.
In the Best Retail Chain category, the mobile phone store Play, which has also the best customer service, proved unrivalled, with Księgarnia Autorska and Sephora being second to it. Also, new retail chains Verona and Folkstar were distinguished.
Prizes was also awarded in marketing categories. The most important event in the shopping centre industry was the “Manufaktura’s 10th anniversary” in Łódź. In the image campaign category: „Deichmann x Margaret” and „Miejsce Korzyści” of Plac Unii in Warsaw received the highest scores.
